About

On January 26, 2009, The D’ni Voice was started in Second Life to keep the Uru community members connected while in exile waiting for Myst Online: Uru Live to return. It was published Monday and Friday over D’ni Refugee group and Uru Cavern Skydivers Group in Second Life. I was encouraged to start this blog so that the community would be able to get the newsletter without having to log into Second Life and to keep in contact with those who went to other metaverses or chose not to go to Second Life.

Myst Online: Uru Live Again is now back but the community still awaits open source and while we do, we have found many places and things to do. I post about Cavern events, Second Life events and other metaversal events that our community members have put together or run concurrently in the Cavern. Since we have a large population in Second Life I post items concerning our lives there.

After August 13, 2010, The D’ni Voice stopped publishing. At that time I felt it was time to move on to other adventures and since most of the community tended to do their own posting via the group notices, I decided that maybe this was redundant.

In the year that has passed, a lot has happened. New community members have come, some older ones have gone. The Refugee group continues to grow as people find it and join, glad to discover other Uruites. Our connections have grown and thrived like the roots of a tree. I said we would stay connected no matter what and we have.  I went forth and learned new skills, created things, led the Department of Mutant Vehicles for Burning Man’s only virtual regional Burn 2, was part of the Core Team who helps run the Burn 2 Event and I ended up playing with five other fabulous people in a percussion troupe where we play the virtual instruments we make live. So its been a good year and a fun year. But I always knew I would come home and so I have. So on October 20, 2011 I dusted off The D’ni Voice and am off and running again. It won’t be the same, which direction it will take? I am not sure. I now have Beach to help me as editor and we will look at making this something the Community can continue to use and even contribute to.

I am thrilled to be doing it!. I have hopes that other Uru Community members who have gone to other metaverses will submit items/information to be posted here as well. I think we all would like to know what others have been doing and even get a chance to visit with one another. We have some that are in There, Second Life and Open Life to name a few and I hope people will be come open to visiting each other in these and hopefully other settings.
